Biddeford students had an amazing fun-filled summer learning about storytelling, coding, nutrition, and wilderness. Field trips included the Center for Wildlife, Seashore Trolley Museum, Joan and Brad’s Blueberry Farm, and Mackworth Island. The program ended with a lively student performance, a parent appreciation event, and our annual end of the summer Color Run!
Portland students had an action-packed summer, exploring a wide array of topics and forming friendships with peers from all across the city. They enjoyed using 3D pens, Magna-Tiles, and Legos in Maker Space club. They experienced a great field trip to Mackworth Island, which included building fairy houses and going on a scavenger hunt. Ocean Avenue Elementary School’s afterschool program was recently highlighted by the Maine Department of Education Newsroom (read the article here).
Saco students were deeply invested in exploring the oceans this summer, partly through ongoing interaction with two Maine scientists who were actively conducting research in French Polynesia. Some of the classroom highlights included creating a coral reef out of recycled materials and testing the buoyancy of various household items. All students have a deepened appreciation for the fascinating ocean that surrounds us on the Maine coast.
Summer camp at Waterboro was truly an unforgettable adventure! Our campers dove into a dynamic, animal-themed STEAM curriculum that brought learning to life through creativity, exploration, and hands-on experiences. From exciting field trips to local farms and wildlife centers, to engaging STEM challenges inspired by animal behavior and habitats, each day offered new opportunities to spark curiosity. Our club activities were a big hit—students wrote and performed their own plays, created short films, and collaborated on projects that combined science, technology, and the arts in imaginative ways.
