Experience: Jana is excited to be joining the LearningWorks team as the Operations Manager. Prior to joining LWAS, she worked for ten years as a high school English teacher. Jana also has extensive experience working for various nonprofit organizations, leading several development initiatives. Her guiding philosophy is to contribute to the world in a positive way, which was her motivation for becoming a teacher. She is an advocate for volunteerism and has spent time helping out on flood relief efforts in Texas. Jana graduated from Salem State University with a degree in English and the University of New England, where she earned her graduate certification in teaching. She also attended the Kennebec Leadership Institute in Augusta and the Community Leadership Institute in Portland. Jana lives in Falmouth and when not working, enjoys exploring Maine's coastline, baking bread, reading, writing, and time spent with her family.
