The LearningWorks AIMS HIGH AmeriCorps program places teams of dedicated AmeriCorps members in local classrooms to support each student’s academic and social success. Members provide emotional learning through tutoring, mentoring, and extended learning strategies in and outside of the classroom. The program helps build stronger schools and communities throughout Southern Maine.

Join the AmeriCorps team!
As a member of the LearningWorks AmeriCorps team, you will gain hands-on experience working with students in one of five local schools, effecting meaningful change in your community. You will improve your leadership abilities and learn essential professional skills while mentoring and tutoring students, supporting teachers in the classroom, and developing projects that will excite and engage young learners.

AIMS HIGH AmeriCorps members receive professional development training in academic instruction, classroom management, and community building. Full-time and half-time members receive a living allowance. Once service is complete, all members are eligible to receive a financial education award that can be used towards tuition, future educational opportunities, or to pay qualified student loan debt.
