  • Learn more
  • -- Take a tour of LearningWorks and get an introduction to our programs by talking to the Development Office.
  • -- Attend one of our events, like Community Conversations.

-- Make an in-kind donation of a computer in good working condition that will go to one of our English Language students. Contact Paul Manoff for details.

Spotlight on Our Interns

Interns Nicole and Danielle

Our thanks to our four graduating interns for their enthusiasm, skills, and dedication over the past two semesters.

Bekah McIntyre started her internship at LearningWorks by supervising a past LearningWorks’ program in Biddeford- Alternatives to Detention.  She then transitioned to supporting Donna Mrowka, Director of Community Based Youth Services, across all programs- including Back on Track and Targeted Case Management.  She will graduate this spring with a Masters in Social Work from Boston College.  Nicole Smeltzer spent her internship working alongside Bear Shea, LearningWorks Counselor for students enrolled in Youth Building Alternatives. Nicole’s presence gave the students a positive and consistent connection important to their success in the program. Nicole has one year left before graduating with her Masters in Social Work from USM.  Danielle Taylor uniquely combined assisting teachers and 3rd-5th graders at both LearningWorks Afterschool sites.  An undergraduate student in her senior year of Communications at USM, she has been accepted to USM’s Masters in Counseling Program for Fall 2012.  Fahmida Akter came from SMCC’s Behavioral Health and Human Services Program and supported the Back on Track Program, traveling with staff to area high schools to facilitate the program’s curriculum for at-risk youth.
